Honestly. Who, other than she who is pretty well-off, is going to buy Rosetta Stone software?
There are millions of people out there who want to learn a new language, but can’t afford to either take classes or buy a set of CDs that cost $549.
But millions of people out there can afford a $150 ticket to a vastly better understanding of the world. Let’s say you slash your prices in half even. Because of better affordability and the fact that schools and individuals have always been thirsty to buy Rosetta Stone, you sell three times as many units.
I don’t have a rich understanding of economics, so if that scenario doesn’t work because of this or that equation, then I humbly submit. But come on, lower your prices. This is ridiculous.
You essentially have a new monopoly on language learning software. Knowing how to speak another person’s language during a conflict, transaction, or exchange of culture gives an unmatched advantage over a man who doesn’t possess that capacity. At a time when terrorism, hatred, and supreme danger in the world is growing ever more worrisome, we need now more than any time in history to learn to understand each other better. And I’m sorry, but only allowing heavier pockets access to that chance is really lame and extremely disappointing for the rest of us.
Folks who make Rosetta Stone, you have the ability to impact the lives of millions, maybe even billions of people. And yes, one of those millions is me. Lower your prices, dammit.

Definitely the easiest but a costly way to learn a language
